Joseph's Avenger Party

We had a great day today! At first we were a little worried when Mother Nature decided to dump a few inches of snow on us, but everyone was able to make it here safely. The party was a wonderful success!

First we colored while we waited for everyone to arrive.

Then it was off to the games! We had some Hulk training (smashing balloons) and then we pinned the Arc Reactor on Iron Man

Then our real training began! We reviewed our "Hulk Smash" and then we flew around like Iron Man and used our Rockets. Then we protected the civilians with our Captain America Shield. Then we controlled the lightning like Thor.

My little Avengers promised to help me with my villain problem. I told them they needed to take away his powers by tickling him and then we were going to tie him up with streamers!

Then it was time to decorate our own cupcakes!! We had green cupcakes (with green icing and green sprinkles) for HULK. We also had blue cupcake (with white frosting and red/white/blue sprinkles) for CAPTAIN AMERICA. Everyone got to decorate 2- I figured any more than that then their mother's might not like me anymore.

Then it was present time!!!

Believe it or not... ALL OF THE ABOVE took around an hour. My last planned game with Hero Hero Villain (also known as Duck Duck Goose).... then I was out of planned activities and about 45 left of the party. So improvisation occurred and we played Furry Says (Simon Says), Freeze Dance game (which was hilarious because after we finished dancing like Iron Man... Hulk... and all the other Avengers we moved on to dancing like Puppies.... Dragons.... your Parents.... worms.... and it just got more and more silly). We also played Furry May I (Mother May I) and then back to another round of Hero Hero Villain. Must make a Mental note... however long you THINK things are going to take plan double the activities anyways!

California Trip

Sorry I never posted about our California trip, life has been hectic

Our family recently took a trip to California. The trip was a busy one but we had a good time. We have not been out there since Christmas 2012 so it was great to see everyone! We spent some time with Josh and Alyssa and their family. I have a niece and nephew that seem to have decided to grow up in my absence! Chris and Clara came down for the weekend. We took a family picture- being that the last one we took didn't have Michael in it ;)

We spent Martin Luther King Day at the beach. It was Michael and Joseph's first trip to the beach. Joseph liked it better than Michael did (lol). Michael didn't seem to like the sand that wouldn't get off of his hands. He was amused when we dug him a hole and filled it with water. Joseph was in heaven... running to the water, then back, then in the water, then playing in the sand, then digging tunnels and waterfalls, then back to the water (repeat this non stop for about 2 hours lol).
